Helping you find an approach that works for you
Hi, I’m Karen, a Haslemere-based Personal Trainer and MNU Certified Nutritionist.
Whether you want to get stronger, improve your fitness, change your body composition or feel more confident in your body, knowing where to start, and what will actually work, isn't always straightforward.
There's no shortage of fitness advice, but much of it is conflicting, overly complicated or based on unrealistic expectations. My job is to help you cut through the confusion, understand your options and find an approach that works for your goals, abilities and lifestyle.
Thoughtful coaching, tailored to you
After working as an accountant, I decided following the birth of my children to turn my interest in fitness into a career where I could help others.
Over the past seven years, I've built more than 6,000 hours of one-to-one coaching experience, working with clients at different stages of life and with a wide range of goals.
I believe good coaching goes far beyond counting repetitions or handing someone a workout. Every exercise, progression and adjustment should have a purpose. Your programme should reflect your individual needs and abilities, evolving as you get stronger and your goals change.
Just as importantly, you should feel supported throughout the process. I'll encourage you, celebrate your progress and help you work through setbacks. You don't have to be motivated every day — that's where having a coach in your corner makes a difference.
Knowledge you can trust
I take my responsibility as a coach seriously. Gaining my personal training qualification was the starting point, not the end of my education.
I've invested hundreds of additional hours in developing my knowledge, including further training in pre and post-natal exercise, Pain-Free Performance and menopause coaching. I've just qualified as an MNU Certified Nutritionist, which will allow me to provide further evidence-based nutritional guidance very soon.
With so much fitness advice presented as fact, I believe you deserve to understand the reasoning behind what I recommend. I aim to base my guidance on evidence rather than passing trends, be honest about what we know, and keep learning as our understanding develops.
Support that lasts
Many of my clients have trained with me for several years. The average client relationship is around 3–4 years, with some continuing for six years and counting. I'm genuinely grateful for the trust they place in me.
I want you to feel that your time, effort and goals are taken seriously. Your progress matters, and I'll always aim to give you the attention, encouragement and considered coaching you deserve.
I work with clients in Haslemere and the surrounding areas, including Hindhead, Beacon Hill, Fernhurst, Chiddingfold, Grayswood, Grayshott and Liphook.
You deserve a coach who listens, thinks carefully about your training and genuinely wants to see you succeed. My role is to guide you, give you confidence in the process and help you make progress that lasts.
